This book provides an excellent overview of the Irish contributions to the American Civil War, shedding light on the role of Irishmen in both the fighting and with President Abraham Lincoln. It is well written and an easy read, teaching readers about the large roll the Irish had in the war. It is also a great conversation starter, as it provides insight into the social status of the Irish in the North.
